    Description

Antique (1893-1899) C. F. Zimmerman Auto Harp in original case.  The harp has 32 strings and 6 chord bars.  This is a restoration project.  The body is in good shape and sounds lovely with properly tuned strings.  But, it is missing 8 strings, only two of chord bars are fully functional and the case has a crack and several condition issues as fully described in the condition section.  C. F. Zimmerman was the inventor of the Auto Harp patenting the design in 1882.  The instrument has a label saying C. F. Zimmerman Dolgeville NY.  Zimmerman produced auto harps in Dolgeville from 1893-1899.  This instrument has a brown wood finish and is likely from the early period before the Zimmerman auto harps were produced solely in black.
