Peanuts are a fun and easy plant to grow, history says they came from Brazil and spread into France and Africa and were introduced into the U.S. during the 1700s. The peanut plant is a member of the
Fabaceae
family and as well it fixes nitrogen into the soil from the air which makes it a great addition to any organic producer. Peanuts are the pods that grow underground with the seeds inside them, they develop after a bright yellow flower has formed and its base starts growing a “root” going down, which forms the peanut below the plant.
Peanuts are an excellent food source, containing high amounts of protein, considered an almost protein complete food, which in the case of peanut butter it was invented to help toothless people get the needed protein in a soft way. It also contains several polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats which help your organism; plus many minerals and vitamins, especially from the B group.

peanuts are known for several names; but them all are very similar in one point, their purple almost black colored skin. This peanut grows up to 12 inches and is of the non-runner peanuts, which makes the peanut pods around the main stalk. '

peanut' produces sweet tasting, very high yield plants which also grow very fast. The pods contain almost exclusively 3-2 seeds each, sometines they have only 1.
Culture:
sow the seeds 1–2 in. deep, and 6–12 in. apart, in rows that are 30–36 in. apart. Loose, well-drained soil is very important for good germination, but the plants won’t mind growing even on clay soils, a soil pH of 5–6 will give the best results. Plant a month after last frost once soil has warmed up, or in tropical regions, any time of the year. Peanuts are slow growing at first, so keep the seedlings well weeded at all times. A useful technique is to inter-plant with a fast-maturing weed-suppressing crop (radishes, green onions, lettuce, and cilantro) that will be harvested before the peanut plants grow large enough to need the space. Peanuts require 110–140 days of hot weather and ample rainfall to yield a good crop. When plants are 12 in. high, hill them up with loose soil as you would with potatoes, and mulch between the rows. Harvest is best to at 110 days from planting, generally on dry October climate or right after a light frost. Dig vines and let them sun-dry for several days before pulling pods off.
