The sound of this violin is full and robust, especially in the lower registers (D and G). There is clarity and responsiveness from all strings. I have not found anyone to actually authenticate it so I'm selling it as a copy. I'm pretty sure it is worth more than 3 thousand simply judging by its potential age and the sound. It is in fair condition but I think the neck is on the slender side. This violin would be ideal for a serious student wanting to have a very decent violin that is also affordable. It would also be excellent for an orchestral player. It appears to have a grafted scroll/neck but I have been told (by three violin dealers) that this violin might be a German-made copy from about 1850. The person I purchased this from had no history of it - it was in the family a long time. I wish I could upload a video but my third and fourth fingers are paralyzed so that's not possible. FREE shipping to any part of the USA except Alaska. No international shipping. Sturdy blue case (shown) and bow included.
